Quilceda Creek Winery is one of Washington's most prestigious wine producers. The winery's focus is on Cabernet Sauvignon, which has been very well-received: the 2002 Quilceda Creek Cabernet Sauvignon was the first American wine outside of California to be awarded 100 points by Robert Parker.
The winery was founded in 1978 by Alex Golitzin, who was inspired to make wine by his uncle André Tchelistcheff, one of the most significant winemakers in California at the time. Alex Golitzin's son, Paul, began working at the winery in 1992 and is now the winemaker.

Robert Parker | 95 RP - Coming from the Mach One vineyard in Horse Heaven Hills, this new label is part of the clonal expression range that honors the family heritage. The 2019 Cabernet Sauvignon Palengat Clone 685 begins with a bold expression of black and blue fruits on the firm, well-structured nose that emanates with elements of elegant oak. Full-bodied and with gobs of juicy, ripe, black raspberry and dark cherry tones, the palate overflows with flavors of savory herbs, bitter dark chocolate and a hint of smoke, followed by a delightful lift of roasted red bell pepper and fine-grained tannins across the mid-palate. The wine continues to evolve in the mouth over the long, winding and powerful finish. It's still tight, so additional aging in the cellar will help before opening the bottle. |
